From New Zealand, Oyster Bay is producing a top notch Chardonnay. It is possibly better than Oyster Bay’s famous Sauvignon Blanc. It offers subtlety, is full bodied, fresh and approachable. Great with appetizers, creamy pasta, shellfish and Camembert cheese.

For our second pick let’s go half way around the world to Italy – and who doesn’t want to go to Italy for the holidays! Roca delle Macie Chianti Classico (+741769|$15.95) is 100% Sangiovese.

It is consistently well made, with soft tannins and berry flavours. This lovely wine pairs well with pasta in tomato sauce, light meats and asiago cheese.
