Great Lakes Brewery Pompous Ass English Ale

Great Lakes Brewery, located west of Toronto off the QEW, is one of Ontario’s first craft breweries. Founded in 1987, it remains independently owned and operated.

This weekend’s cheer is Great Lakes Brewery Pompous Ass English Ale. I love the humour of the off-the-wall label!

This is a version of an English Ale style of beer, made with American ale yeast and contemporary hops. It has an amber colour with lots of fluffy froth. The citrus, floral and caramel aromas are followed by mellow, soft caramel and citrus flavours, without bitterness, and a soft finish. Overall, this is a balanced, flavourful and refreshing beer.

This would be a perfect pair with your Easter turkey, and with grilled foods and soft cheeses.

Cheers!
